December 2, 2005 Tutorial

Tomorrow we will be meeting in our Vari Hall room.

For the first hour, we will be discussing "interactivity", "art", and "interactive art" some more, drawing inspiration from Lew's thought provoking lecture on Tuesday, so bring your notes. I'll also be showing you some examples of other types of "interactive" or "interactional" art that aren't digital. They'll put into questions some of Lew's contentions. Hopefully they'll stimulate your thinking on what interactivey and art could mean. Think about this for tomorrow: Could art have been interactive before the Internet? What would that art look like? Do you have any examples of this type of pre-Internet interactive art?

I'll also be handing back your essays tomorrow and we'll be spending the second half of the tutorial going over my thoughts on general strengths and weaknesses in your written work (first half hour of the last hour) and then doing some general review (last half hour). I don't have all of the answers, so we'll be helping each other with review questions.

Your essays will be handed back at the end of the tutorial.

See you all tomorrow.
